GRAND PROPORTIONS

Built as an investment property, this home was designed with a focus on large scale living areas and separate zones for sleeping.

Even though the house itself was only 143sqm, a large open plan living area was the most important element of the design. The kitchen had to be multi functional – act as informal dining, an entertaining area, along with offering views to the garden and deck.

Injecting personality into a neutral home, the kitchen features a hand made Italian tile splashback that provides a great retro contrast with the white of the cabinetry.

The design objective was to create a warm, calm neutral palette that gave creative licence for whom ever purchased the property to inject their own personality into the space.

The garden was also important to ensure green vistas from each room. Every fence was covered in lush Climbing Fig to provide all year round greenery.

When sold in 2014 for a record price, some $190K over the range, feedback received was on the excellent flowing floor plan, large scale living areas and master bedroom.
